Abstract:
The present invention discloses a process (100) for producing black terracotta wares. The process (100) comprises a selecting common clay from various field areas for fabrication, utilizing selected clay to preliminary processing steps involves crushing, wet screening, aging, and kneading and de-airing, shaping clay into green wares using fabrication methods, polishing semi-dry stage wares using trace amount of waste mobil oil, drying polished wares in an oven to reduce moisture content, loading dried wares into a firing chamber (50), creating a low air-pressure atmosphere inside an impermeable ceramic inner layered reactor, heating wares in the firing chamber (50) to a peak temperature in the range of about 500°C to 1000°C, developing a carburizing atmosphere inside the firing chamber (50) in situ through the pyrolysis of oil used for polishing and completing the heating-cooling cycle within 7 hours to a peak temperature of 1000°C.
