Faculty Awards

National Institute of Technology Rourkela has achieved a significant milestone in research excellence with 11 faculty members securing the prestigious Advanced Research Grant (ARG) under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India. The institute has received a cumulative research funding of more than ₹8.50 crore through these grants, reaffirming its position as a leading centre for cutting-edge research and innovation.

The Advanced Research Grant (ARG) is one of ANRF's flagship funding programmes that supports high-impact fundamental, use-inspired, and applied research in frontier areas of science, engineering, technology, and social sciences. The programme aims to promote transformative research that addresses national priorities, advances scientific knowledge, and contributes to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The faculty members from NIT Rourkela selected for the prestigious grant are:

• Prof. Devendra Verma, Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering
• Prof. Madhuresh Dwivedi, Department of Food Process Engineering
• Prof. Binod Bihari Sahu, Department of Life Science
• Prof. Rabindra Kumar Behera, Department of Chemistry
• Prof. Mirza Khalid Baig, Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering
• Prof. Kishore Singh Patel, Department of Mechanical Engineering

The grants will enable the researchers to undertake advanced investigations in their respective domains, develop innovative technologies, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations.
