NIT Rourkela Celebrates 77th Republic Day!
77th Republic Day celebrations at NIT Rourkela began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Director Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao in the presence of faculty members, officers, staff, and students. The Director, accompanied by Prof. Mayank Yadav (Professor in Charge, NCC–Army Wing) and Prof. Arun Prasath V. (Professor in Charge, NCC–Naval Wing), then inspected the parade. The programme featured an impressive march past by NCC cadets, security personnel, and students of Kendriya Vidyalaya–NITR and the REC Campus Government School. Prof. Rao then administered the National Integration Pledge to the gathering.
The celebrations were enriched with cultural performances, including an Odia song presentation, dance performances by students of KV-NITR and REC campus school, a visually captivating Drone Air Show organised by the Udaan Club, showcasing creativity and technological innovation, and a yoga demonstration by Yog Vidya Club students. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to NCC cadets for their ranks and awards.
Prof. S. K. Pratihar (Dean, SRICCE) and Prof. Rohan Dhiman (Registrar) unfurled the National Flag at the Technology Club and Staff Club of NIT Rourkela, respectively. The campus resonated with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour as Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal across hostels and key venues to honour the spirit of the Indian Constitution.
