BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Supratim Gupta is an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, currently on leave and serving as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering (ECSE), University of Auckland. He is actively involved with the PRETZEL research group and collaborates with Google DeepMind. Dr. Gupta holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, and earned his B.E.E. and M.E.E. degrees from Jadavpur University. His research expertise spans image and signal processing, embedded systems, and digital circuit design. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and holds an Indian patent granted, with another patent application filed. Dr. Gupta’s academic contributions and innovations have received international recognition. Throughout his career at NIT Rourkela, he has mentored many students who have secured positions at leading technology companies including Qualcomm, AMD, Intel, and Analog Devices, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing industry-ready professionals. Currently, Dr. Gupta advances research and development through collaborations at the University of Auckland and industry partners, effectively bridging theoretical advancements with practical applications in engineering and computational engineering fields.
