BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Abhishek Dwivedi earned his M.Tech and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. During his PhD, his research focused on the development and optimization of chemical processes for conversion of CO2 into fuels, contributing to the utilization component of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). Subsequently, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada, for two years. His postdoctoral research focused on the development and techno-economic assessment of biofuel production and biogenic CO2 conversion processes. His research aims to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions through the replacement of fossil fuels with sustainable biofuels and the conversion of CO2 into value-added fuels and chemicals. His work aligns closely with global efforts to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by the middle of the century and limit climate change. The production of fuels from biomass and CO2 offers a promising pathway toward a low-carbon economy by addressing both energy demand and carbon management challenges. In addition, his research explores the application of Machine Learning, Process Optimization techniques, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to support the development of efficient, economically viable, and environmentally sustainable processes. He warmly invites motivated students (BTech, MTech and PhD) to join his research group, Sustainable Process Engineering Laboratory (SPEL).
