Admission of International students

National Institute of Technology Rourkela offers admission to Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to its B. Tech programmes under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

The DASA scheme is intended to provide direct admission to eligible foreign and overseas candidates in Central Government–funded technical institutions (other than IITs).

Admissions under DASA are carried out through a common centralized counselling process and are based on the candidate’s performance in JEE (Main), as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education.

Each year, a Coordinating Institute is designated by the Ministry of Education to conduct the DASA admission process. Details regarding registration, counselling schedule, seat allotment, eligibility criteria, and fee structure are notified on the official DASA portal.
