BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Zetasizer Nano ZS Malvern
  • Department : Ceramic Engineering
  • Location : Materials Characterization Lab 1
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

It uses Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) to measure particle size by analyzing the Brownian motion of particles. The patented Non-Invasive Back-Scatter (NIBS) technology enhances sensitivity by illuminating a larger number of particles

APPLICATION:

Measurement of protein size, electrophoretic mobility of proteins, zeta potential of colloids and nanoparticles. Particle Size Analysis: Suitable for nanoparticles, colloids, and macromolecules. Zeta Potential Measurement: Determines the surface charge of particles, which is crucial for stability studies in formulations. Molecular Weight Determination: Useful in characterizing proteins, polymers, and other macromolecules.
