Syllabus

1. Determination of the resistance of a galvanometer by Kelvin’s method using P.O. box.
2. Study of resonance in LCR circuit and damping effect.
3. Study of rise and decay of current in LR circuit with a source of constant EMF.
4. Determination of velocity of sound in air.
5. Study of electromagnetic induction and verification of Faraday’s laws.
6. Determination of the ballistic constant of a ballistic galvanometer.
7. Frequency of AC supply and capacitance of a capacitor by using electrical vibrator.
8. Determination of capacitance of a capacitor using coulombmeter.
9. Voltage current relationship in an L-R series circuit.
10. Hysteresis loop of magnetic materials.
11. Measurement of inductance & capacitance by Maxwell’s L/C bridge.
12. Measurement of unknown capacitance by Schering bridge.

To have hand on experimental experience with the various theoretical concepts on electricity.

To have hand on experimental experience with the various theoretical concepts on Magnetism.

To have potential to derive the capacitance and Inductance.

Hands-on experience on Magnetic behavior from hysteresis loop.

5. To find out the unknown resistance.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:
