Syllabus
| Module 1 : |
1. Determination of average particle size of a mixture of particles by sieve analysis.
|
Course Objective
| 1 . |
To provide a first hand knowledge on understanding the mechanism involved in various mechanical operation equipments, performing experiments related to particle size separation and size reduction and subsequent interpretations of experimental data. |
| 2 . |
To enhance technical skills in operating advanced mechanical separation equipment, enabling students to conduct experiments such as froth flotation, magnetic separation, and cyclone separation, and to interpret the operational efficiencies and the physics behind these processes. |
| 3 . |
To develop analytical abilities for assessing and optimizing the performance of grinding and crushing equipment, by studying variables like feed size, reduction ratios, and the impact of operational speeds on equipment efficacy, as seen in experiments with ball mills, gyratory crushers, and jaw crushers. |
| 4 . |
To cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the principles of material conveyance and screening mechanisms, through hands-on experience with screw conveyors, vibrating screens, and Trommels, focusing on aspects such as transportation efficiency and the sorting of materials based on size and other properties. |
Course Outcome
| 1 . |
Upon completion of this course the students would be able to:
