Course Objective

1 .

These experiments are intended to acquaint the students with the practice of experimental physical chemistry and to understand the interconnection between experimental foundation and underlying theoretical principles

2 .

The course is designed to apply the principles of thermodynamics, kinetics, spectroscopy and various other topics presented in the physical chemistry courses, in some illustrative experiments. The course also helps to develop laboratory skills to get familiar with a variety of measurement techniques.

Course Outcome

1 .

After the completion of the course the students will be able to
CO1: demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental concepts of chemistry by using critical thinking and analytical skills to apply them in experiments.
CO2: conduct experiments and demonstrate proficiency with appropriate lab skills, techniques, and instrumentation.
CO3: demonstrate effective communication skills in multiple formats including written work for preparation of scientific report and oral presentations during viva-voce. Students will also acquire the skills for teamwork
