Module 1 :

Topics include the fundamentals of homogeneous, heterogeneous and biocatalysis. It also various spectroscopic methods, x-ray and thermal analysis. Concepts like photocatalysis and recent developments, such as solid acid catalysts, and fine chemical synthesis are also involved. Finally, it contains discussions on a variety of modern applications, including environmental pollution control, petroleum refining, and fuel cells,

Course Objective

1 .

To impart the fundamentals of catalyst.

2 .

To impart the fundamentals of synthesis of catalyst.

3 .

To impart the fundamentals of characterization of catalysts.

4 .

To impart the fundamentals of applications of catalysis and motivate students to pursue more advanced studies and ultimately careers in the field.

Course Outcome

1 .

CO1: Students will understand the various fundamental aspects of catalysts and their types.
CO2: Students will learn fundamental principles governing the mechanism of catalyst and green catalysis.
CO3: Students will understand the synthesis and characterizations of catalyst.
CO4: Students will gain extensive capacities for any analytical and synthesis related problems.
CO5: Students will understand the applications of catalysis and to pursue more advanced studies and ultimately careers in the field.
