This course will provide advance understanding on structure, bonding, preparation and application of
organometallic compounds

2 .

Students will develop a thorough understanding of various organometallic reaction steps and the
mechanism involved in organometallic transformations.

3 .

Understanding of industrially important catalytic processes and their mechanistic pathway

Course Outcome

1 .

1. To understand the concept of different metal-carbon bonds and their reactivity.
2. To explain and rationalize the bonding and properties of organometallic compounds.
3. Apply electron counting to predict the stability of organometallic compounds and reaction pathways.
4. To be able to explain fundamental organometallic transformations in catalytic cycles and suggest reaction mechanism
5. To be able to analyze and evaluate industrially important catalytic processes through the application of organometallic principles.
6. Apply the knowledge in organometallic chemistry and catalysis to generate ideas for facile and industrially relevant catalytic reactions.
