Risk Assessment: Concepts, Qualitative and Quantitative Approaches Components of Risk Assessment : Risk Identification, Risk Estimation and Evaluation
Risk Analysis using FTA,HAZOP, ETA etc. Risk Analysis Softwares
Heath Risk Assessment and Epidemiological Studies Statistical and Economic Analysis of Accident Data Risk Minimization Techniques in Mines Generic approach to loss control within mining operations
Safety Policies, Safety Audit and Safety Management in Mines
Application of Virtual Reality for Safety,
Training and Marketing
Case studies on Safety Risk Assessment in Mining and allied industries

Course Objective

1 .

the students will be able to apply different risk assessment approaches for mining applications and assess and evaluate risk and adopt approaches for risk reduction and minimization

Course Outcome

1 .

CO1: To familiarize the students with safety nomenclature, principles of safety engineering, and hazards identification in opencast and underground mines
CO2: To compare and discuss the different qualitative and quantitative approaches to safety risk assessment in mines.
CO3: To apply and analyze safety risk analysis techniques applicable to mining problems.
CO4 To analyze accident and investigate and report accidents after mine disasters
CO5: Evaluate safety risk assessment techniques and Safety management plans and audit reports.
