Syllabus

Module 1 :

Simulation of various power electronics converters and their motor drives applications in the MATLAB/Simulink, dc-dc converters: Boost converter, Buck converter and Flyback converter, closed-loop voltage control mode operation of Flyback converter, dc motor drives using universal bridge PWM converter, dc motor drives using closed-loop controlled GTO based dc-dc converter, induction motor drive with constant V/f control, induction motor drive using the P-I controller, induction motor dynamic model simulation during free acceleration, simulation of three-phase PWM active rectifier acting as the utility interface for the input line current wave shaping to improve line current THD.

Course Objective

To acquire skill in Simulink simulation of power electronic converters and dc drives

To verify dynamic model of induction motor in reference frames through simulation using MATLAB programming
