Module 2: Mobile Radio Propagation and Fading
Radio wave propagation, Reflection, Diffraction, Scattering, Path loss and shadowing, Link budget Design, Empirical Path-Loss Models and link budget design, Outage probability under Path loss and Shadowing of channels, Outdoor and indoor propagation models, Multipath propagation and small scale fading, Impulse response, Parameters for mobile multipath channels, Types of small scale fading, Indoor and outdoor statistical models for multi-path Channel fading, Statistical Characterization and Generation of Fading Channel, Analysis of Rayleigh fading simulator, fading statistics, Spectral shape of Doppler spread, Level-Crossing Rate and Average Duration of Fades, Effect of Multipath shape factors for small scale fading

Module 3: Modelling & analysis of mobile radio channels
Parametrization of Sum-of-Sinusoids Channel Models, Frequency-Nonselective Channel Models, Frequency-Selective Channel Models, Space-time Channel Models, Spatial Correlation of Ray-Based Channel Model, Capacity of wireless channel: Frequency selective & fading channels.

Module 4: Equalization and Diversity Techniques
Fundamentals of Equalization Technique, Equalizer types, Linear and non-linear equalizers: ZF, MMSE, MLSE, DFE, etc., Equalizer noise enhancement, Algorithms for Adaptive equalizer (Training & tracking), Space Diversity techniques: Selection Diversity, MRC, EGC, etc.), Moment Generating Functions in Diversity Analysis, Polarization, Frequency, and Time Diversity, Multiple Antenna Wireless system model, Symbol Detection and Multi-antenna BER performances. 8 Hours

Module 5: Channel Estimation
Pilot Structure: Block, Comb & Lattice type, Training Symbol-Based Channel Estimation, Decision-Directed Channel Estimation, Channel Estimation in Fast Time-Varying Channels, Channel Estimation for Multi-Antenna Systems, Advanced Channel Estimation Techniques.

To understand cellular design concept & capacity improvement in cellular system.

To know about various indoor and outdoor mobile radio channels and models in large-scale and small-scale fading scenarios.

To analyze the statistical characterization, modeling & analysis of mobile radio channel parameters.

To analyze the effects of multipath and fading in mobile radio channels..

To study the various channel estimation, equalization, and diversity techniques and analyze performance.

CO1: Develop the ability to address practical cellular system design and solve the various design challenges utilizing appropriate techniques.
CO2: Will be able to distinguish and analyse pathloss and large scale fading phenomena in mobile radio channel
CO3: Can differentiae multipath effect and small scale fading nature of MRC subjected to various realistic conditions
CO4: Develop the skill to statistically characterize of mobile multipath channels through measurement and analysis of parameters of the mobile radio channels.
CO5: Will be able to suggest equalization and diversity combining techniques to overcome the practical challenges in MRC.
