Performance Analysis of Digital communication systems: Optimum Linear Detector for Binary Polar Signaling, Coherent Receivers for Digital carrier modulations, Signal Space Analysis of Optimum Detection, Vector Decomposition of White Noise Random Processes, Optimum receiver for White Gaussian Noise Channels, Non-Coherent detection. |

Spread Spectrum Communications: FHSS systems, multiple FHSS user systems and performance, applications, DSSS systems, CDMA of DSSS, MUD, Modern Practical DSSS CDMA systems. Digital communications under linearly distortive channels: Receiver Channel Equalisation, Channel Estimation, and Decision Feedback Equaliser. |

Modulation & Coding Trade-offs: Bandwidth efficient modulation, Modulation and Coding for band-limited channels, Trellis coded modulation. |
