Module 1 :

Module I :
Introduction to IS code of engineering drawing:
Lines, lettering, dimensioning, labelling, sheet formatting the concept of scale, Construction of Scales (Plane Scales, Diagonal Scales, Vernier Scales, and Scales of Chords).
Module II:
Curves and conic sections:
Ogee curves, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola, cycloid, trochoid, involutes.
Module III:
Projection:
Projection of points, projection of lines (traces and true lengths)Projection of planes.
Module IV:
Projection of solids:
Cube, prism, pyramid, cylinder, sphere, cones, suspended solids, solids in combination, and composite solids.
Module V:
Introduction to the concept of Axonometric projection Isometric projection of solids Derivation of three-dimensional projections/ views from two-dimensional drawings.

Course Objective

1 .

To develop skills in reading and interpretation of technical drawings.

2 .

To learn techniques to represent three-dimensional information of an object on a two-dimensional drawing sheet.

3 .

To learn the techniques of manually drafting projection of solids on a drawing sheet.

Course Outcome

1 .

1. Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate graphical ideas into technically appropriate drawings.
2. Ability to understand and visualize the composition of solids.
3. Ability to apply the concept of scale and proportions.
4. Ability to technically present 3D objects on a 2D drawing sheet.
