Module 1 :

Module I Indian Green Building Council and The Energy Research Institute: Introduction, Benefits of Green Buildings, National Priorities Addressed in the Rating System, IGBC Green New Buildings Rating System, Overview and Process Sustainable Architecture and Design. GRIHA- Precertification, provisional rating and final rating system.
Module II Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), the first green building rating system of U.K.- Introduction and principles of rating system Energy Independence And Security Act of 2007 The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Multi-attribute rating system by United States Green Building Council (USGBC)- Leed 2009 rating system, Leed v4, Energy efficient performance of indoor environment quality, water efficiency, smart grid and building materials
Module III Basic introduction of CASBEE (Japan)- Multi-attribute building rating system, BEE-star rating system for energy efficiency equipment.
Module IV Case Studies of Griha Registered/Rated Building Assessment of green building rating of Architectural Design Studio assignments.

Course Objective

1 .

To be able to analyse the energy efficiency of building design and create integrated projects that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle

Course Outcome

1 .

a. An ability to design and conduct inquiries, and to analyze and interpret data
b. An ability to identify and formulate programmatic requirements
c. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs such as aesthetic, economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
d. An ability to use techniques, skills, and technology for architectural practice
e. An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
f. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
