Module 1 :

Module I:
Track and track stresses, Train resistances and hauling power of locomotives. [4 hrs.]
Module II:
Railway track components: Important features, Railway curves, Superelevation, Gradients and grade compensation, Points and crossing and their design approaches. [8 hrs.]
Module III:
Construction and maintenance of railway track, Control of train movements. Signals and interlocking, [6 hrs.]
Module IV:
Modernization of railways and future trends. Track standards and track rehabilitation. [6 hrs.]
Module V:
Tunnel types, Tunnel boring and excavation. [6 hrs.]
Module VI:
Finite Element Analysis of tunnels. [6 hrs.]
