Syllabus

Module 1 :

Session 1: Interpretation and use of In-situ tests (SPT, CPT) to design foundations. (2 hours)
Session 2: Interpretation and use of In-situ tests (PLT, PMT, DMT) to design foundations. (2 hours)
Session 3: Geotechnical Design of shallow footing for compression, bending, and uplift. (2 hours)
Session 4: Design of piles under compression, lateral and uplift forces. (2 hours)
Session 5: Design of Well foundation. (2 hours)
Session 6: Design of soil slopes. (2 hours)
Session 7: Use of software package (MATLAB) to analyze and design foundations. (2 hours)
Session 8: Concept of Computer-aided design and use of software packages to analyze and design the Shallow Foundation. (2 hours)
Session 9: Concept of Computer-aided design and use of software packages to analyze and design the Pile Foundation. (2 hours)
Session 10: Concept of Computer-aided design and use of software packages to analyze and design Soil slopes with and without reinforcement. (2 hours)
