Types and processing of feedstock for hydrogen production, Method of production of hydrogen, Steam reforming process, Design of reformer unit, Partial Oxidation Method for Hydrogen Production, autothermal reforming, Reforming Using Alternate Energy Sources, Hydrogen Production by Methane Decomposition, Hydrogen production from bio-mass, Hydrogen Production from Coal, Electrolysis of Water for Hydrogen Production, Electrolytic Cell Components and Electrolyser Stack, Photo electrochemical cell,
Module 3: Hydrogen Separation and Purification
Absorption separation, Adsorption separation, Membrane separation, Cryogenic separation,
Module 4: Hydrogen Storage

Course Objective

1 .

To provide knowledge on the different production methods of hydrogen

2 .

To teach students the design and development of hydrogen storage systems

3 .

To impart knowledge on the transportation of hydrogen and the development of the hydrogen sensor

4 .

To provide exposure to the real-life hydrogen processes through different case studies

Course Outcome

1 .

CO1: to compare different routes for hydrogen production, hydrogen storage systems, and sensors
CO2: to analyze and design the hydrogen processes and storage systems
CO3: to assure safety issues of different equipment in hydrogen processes
CO4: to troubleshoot the operation of hydrogen processes
CO5: to set up MSME for starting a business in the green hydrogen segment
