Module 1 :

Module I [6 hours]
Embankment Construction: Formation Cutting Techniques, Excavation and Blasting Methods, Role and Significance of Subgrade, Compaction Techniques for Subgrade Preparation, Challenges and Issues, Ground Improvement Strategies, Stabilization Techniques, Lime and Cement Additives, Dynamic Compaction, Geosynthetic Reinforcement.

Module II [8 hours]
Granular and Stabilized Sub-bases/Bases, Composition and Construction Techniques of Water Bound Macadam (WBM), Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) and its components, Mixing Techniques and Applications of Cement Treated Bases, Dry Lean Concrete (DLC), Construction Defects and Troubleshooting.

Module III [8 hours]
Bituminous Layer Constructions: Categorization and Use Cases of Bituminous Constructions, Interface Treatments, Bituminous Surfacing, and Wearing Courses, Compaction Procedure, Recycled Pavements Indian Roads Congress Specifications, Construction Techniques and Quality Control

Module IV [8 hours]
Concrete road construction: Concrete Mix Examination, Quality Validation, Construction Machinery for Concrete Roads, Construction Techniques for Joints in Concrete Pavements, Joint Fabrication Methods, Quality Assurance Measures in Concrete Pavement Construction

Module V [6 hours]
Unconventional pavements: Resurfacing Techniques. Mountainous Road Infrastructure, Slope Stability, Landslide Origins, and Mitigation Strategies, Retaining and Breast Walls on Hill Roads, Building Bituminous and Cement Concrete Roads in Elevated Terrains, Shoulder Design, Hill Road Water Management, Roadwork Challenges, and Corrective Actions.

Gain knowledge about Machinery and tools that are employed for quality control and quality assurance

Gain insights into the practices and challenges for unconventional pavement

Gain understanding related to the pavement rehabilitation techniques
