Module 1 :

Assignment 1: Introduction to Building drawing and design of Residential Building [3 hours]
Assignment 2: Office building design [3 hours]
Assignment 3: Two-storey building design (floor plan, section and elevation) [3 hours]
Assignment 4: G+3 Residential building (line diagram, floor plan, section and elevation) [3 hours]
Assignment 5: Load bearing wall [3 hours]
Assignment 6: Staircase design (Dog-legged and Open-well) [3 hours]
Assignment 7: Reinforcement detailing (RC beam) [3 hours]
Assignment 8: Column and footing detailing [3 hours]
Assignment 9: RC slab detailing [3 hours]
Assignment 10: Lintel and chhajja [3 hours]

Course Objective

1 .

To understand the basic concepts, purpose, functions, and types of buildings (Residential, Industrial, Institutional).

2 .

To learn principles of site selection, building orientation, and efficient space distribution.

3 .

To develop line plans and transform them into detailed building plans.

4 .

To study key structural components such as doors, windows, foundations, and staircases.

Course Outcome

1 .

CO1: Understand the basic concepts, purpose, and types of buildings, including residential, industrial, and institutional structures.
CO2: Apply principles of site selection, building orientation, and space distribution in design.
CO3: Develop and interpret line plans and convert them into detailed architectural drawings.
CO4: Analyze and design key building components such as doors, windows, foundations, and staircases.
CO5: Create complete building drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections, for various structures.Develop a suitable and judicious plan and elevation for any construction project.
