Module 1 :

Module I (8 hours): Evolution of EIA in India and country countries EIA at project Regional and policy levels Strategic EIA EIA process Screening and scoping criteria regulatory provisions of EIA.
Module II (8 hours): Rapid and comprehensive EIA Methods in EIA Analysis Legislative and environmental clearance procedures in India and, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in USA, Siting criteria Notifications on Coastal Regulation Zone Public participation
Module III (8 hours): Environmental risk analysis Economic valuation methods Cost-benefit analysis GIS and similar applications used in EIA, description of geomorphology and geo hydrology of project area.
Module IV (8 hours): Resettlement and rehabilitation. Practical applications of EIA: Specialized study on Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) of developmental project Baseline data collection Prediction and assessment of impacts on physical, biological and socio-economic environment Environmental management plan Post project monitoring, Review process. Case studies on project, regional and sectoral EIA. Risk assessment fundamentals and methodology, case studies.
