Syllabus

Module 1 :

1. Identification of standard mineral using X-ray Diffraction Method (XRD).
2. Identification of crystal structure by X-ray Diffraction Method (XRD).
3. Determination of Relative mobility of elements.
4. Determination of chemical index of alteration (CIA).
5. Calculation of Equilibrium constant of Calcite at different Temperature.
6. Calculation of Equilibrium constant of Aragonite at different Temperature.
7. Calculation of effective partial pressure of CO2 (PCO2) of aqueous system
8. Determination of saturation index
9. Stability diagram for Na2O, K2O, Al2O3, SiO2, H2O at 250C.
10. Eh-pH Diagram.

Course Objective

1 .

To train the students on the fundamentals concept of geochemistry, and practical application through different approaches
