Module 1 :

Module I: Introduction to Regional Planning and Programming: Understanding regional development models through detailed investigation classification of regions and delineation techniques, and methods, tools and techniques for regionalization overview of systems simulation - forecasting and modelling

Module II: Regional planning theories and applications: Dynamics of project analysis, financial feasibility, cost allocation and pricing. Input-output analysis, models and applications Gravity potentials and spatial interaction models, Application of gravity models in migration estimation, inter-regional changes in position (RIP) module, Sectoral models, shift and share analysis, Inequality indicators- Gini coefficient and Lorenz curve, Cost benefits analysis, Linear Programming model Threshold analysis, General inter-regional equilibrium model

Module III: Micro aspects of action programming: National Planning Techniques multilevel planning approaches of current plans, applications and case examples

Course Objective

To understand concepts of regional planning, different tools for regional analysis and economic models associated with it
