Module I Introduction to the basics of planning theories: Conception and evolution of planning through ancient, medieval, renaissance, industrial and post-industrial era dynamics of city growth - impact of social-economic variation on planning, utopian concepts in planning contribution of Ebenezer Howard, Patrick Geddes, Peter Hall, Lewis Mumford, Le Corbusier, and others cities and modernism, postmodern cities categorisation of cities.
