Syllabus

Module 1 :

Continuum Modeling using ANSYS package.
Experiment-1: To model and analyze stresses in cantilever beam.
Experiment 2 – To model and analyze buckling of pipe under load.
Experiment 3 – To model plate with hole and analyze stresses, strains under loads.
Experiment 4 – To model three point bending test and analyze stresses.
Experiment 5 – To model a double L structure without out hole and analyze stresses.
Experiment 6 – To model and analyze stresses in a bracket.

Course Objective

1 .

To model the materials at the continuum scale using FEM software ANSYS and perform stress and strain analysis.

Course Outcome

1 .

1. Learning of the continuum FEM simulation tool ANSYS.
2. Use the elastic and plastic governing equations for structural analysis.
3. To create simple and complex geometries.
4. To do stress analysis in structural components.
5. To perform strain analysis of the structural models.
6. To model and design engineering components.
