Course Objective

1 .

To be aware and understand the different physical and mechanical properties of rocks, soils and aggregate materials

2 .

To identify correctly the methods and standards of testing for different geo-mechanical properties based on requirement of the problem.

3 .

To be able to independently perform laboratory testing for determining various geo-mechanical properties of materials.

Course Outcome

1 .

CO 1. Understand the principles and procedures of mechanical property testing of aggregates and construction materials,
CO 2. Apply laboratory techniques to determine soil compaction and permeability characteristics for geotechnical engineering applications.
CO 3. Analyze the strength and bearing capacity of soil to assess their suitability for construction.
CO 4. Evaluate the quality and structural integrity of construction materials through non-destructive testing methods
CO 5. Design effective material testing strategies and interpret experimental results to make informed decisions for infrastructure development and geotechnical applica-tions.
