Syllabus

Module 1 :

Module-I
Introduction to MATLAB, methods of generating random number, Graph plotting, Function definition.

Module 2 :

Module II
Design of Experiments (DOE), Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Full factorial, Response surface methodology (RSM), Taguchi method, Multi response optimization, Project

Module 3 :

Module III
Problem formulation, data collection, factor screening, considering the experimental design, output analysis and interpretation validation.

Module 4 :

Module IV
Comparison and selection of simulation softwares, study of any one simulation software (Ansys/COMSOL./ABAQUS/DEFORM 3D/MD..), Structural/thermal/process modelling using software

Course Objective

1 .

To know about fundamentals of MATLAB tool and solving problems.

2 .

Learn and apply concept of design of experiments (DOE) to mechanical system problems.

3 .

Learn modeling techniques to model and to simulate various systems.

4 .

To perform engineering simulation using softwares

Course Outcome

1 .

1. Able to program curve fitting, numerical differentiation and integration, solution of linear equations in MATLAB

2 .

2. Understand various Design of experiment (DOE) techniques, ANOVA, Regression analysis related to process parameter optimization

3 .

3. Apply design of experiments (DOE) to check the effects of process parameters using DOE softwares.

4 .

4. Simulate and interepret simulation results and develop optimized solution for engineering applications
