Syllabus

1. To study the basic concept of vacuum pump and different vacuum regions
2. To study the classification of vacuum pumps and their applications
3. Test the performance of a low-capacity vacuum pump – Single stage rotary vacuum pump
4. Test the performance of High/Ultra high capacity vacuum pump—a turbomolecular vacuum pump
5. To design the vacuum chamber/cryostat
6. To conduct experiments on residual gas analysis in the diffusion pump system and cracking patterns to determine the qualitative air composition.

To gain the practical knowledge on production of vacuum at different vacuum levels

To gain the knowledge of operating different vacuum pumps
