Syllabus

Module 1 :

Module I
Introduction and principles of nanotechnology in energy and environmental applications. Classifications of several nanomaterials. Properties of different classes of nanomaterials (metal, metal oxide, carbonaceous nanomaterials, heterostructure, etc) for environmental remediation and energy applications.
Module II
Size and shape dependent colour of nanomaterials. Properties of Plasmonic nanomaterials (noble metals). Structural colors of nanomaterials.
Module III
Theories of size dependent melting point of the nanomaterials.
Module IV
Theory of nucleation and growth for the formation of nanomaterials.
Synthesis approaches of important nanomaterials useful for energy and environmental applications.
Module V
Fundamentals and properties of carbon and semiconductor nanomaterials for different energy and environmental applications.

Course Objective

1 .

To gain fundamental knowledge on nanotechnology for energy and environmental applications.

2 .

To gain knowledge on different nanomaterials used for energy and environmental applications

3 .

To develop knowledge on the designing of nanomaterials for energy and environmental applications

Course Outcome

1 .
