Syllabus

Module 1 :

Analysis of X-ray diffraction in cubic (FCC and BCC) metals. Analysis of X-ray diffraction in hexagonal (HCP) metals. Study of unknown samples using X-ray diffractometer. Determination of residual stress, residual strain and grain size of deformed metals. Study of Scanning Electron Microscope, and EDS analysis of metals/alloys. Thermal analysis by DTA, TGA, DSC on metallic sample.

Elemental analysis through EDS and WDS.

Characterization of phase transformation through thermal analysis techniques.
