Module-I: Introduction to EHV AC Transmission: Role of EHV AC Transmission, Brief Description of Energy Sources, Transmission Line Trends and Preliminaries, Standard Transmission Voltages, Average Values of Line Parameters, Power-Handling Capacity and Line Loss, Mechanical Considerations in Line Performance. (10 Hrs)

To learn about the recent trends in EHV AC Transmission, calculate the value of Line Inductance and Capacitance of EHV transmission line.. |
| 2 . |
To understand the concept of voltage gradients of conductors, Power-frequency voltage control and over voltages of EHV transmission line. |
| 3 . |
To learn about the extra high voltage cable transmission and high voltage test technique |
| 4 . |
The course also serves as an introduction to Gas insulated systems. |
