Expt 2: Tests on Subgrade CBR
Module 2 :

Granular Materials: Experimental Characterisation of Aggregates:
Expt 3: Stripping characteristics (by IS and ASTM methods)
Expt 4: SHAPE tests
Expt: 5: 10% Fines value test .
Module 3 :

Characterisation of Bituminous Binder:
Expt 6: Elastic Recovery test and Temperature susceptibility
Module 4 :

Design of Bituminous Mixes
Expt: 7 and 8 Marshall method of Bituminous Mix Design
Module 5 :

Design of PQC mixes.
Expt: 9 and 10 Design of PQC mixes of various grades as per IRC

Course Objective

1 .

To train the students for testing of various paving materials and prepare them to write appropriate test report
2 .

To solve practical problems of different materials used in pavement layers and understand their applications.

Course Outcome

Knowledge of characteristics of various pavement materials

2 .

To train students on design of bituminous and PQC mixes for pavements
3 .

To train students on analysis of results of tests conducted.
