Syllabus

Module 1 :

Module 1: Introduction to Mechatronics Systems (7 Hours)
Definition and scope of Mechatronics, Classification of Mechatronics systems, Block diagram and graphical representation, Importance and applications Mechatronics System in industries, academics and other engineering and science fields.
Module 2: Actuators and Motors in Mechatronic Systems (7 Hours)
Classification of actuators, Types of stepper motors and control circuits, Types of DC motors, DC geared motors, and servo motors, Electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment in Mechatronic systems.
Module 3: Sensors and Transducers in Mechatronics (7 Hours)
Introduction and performance terminology, Displacement, position, and proximity sensors, Velocity, motion, and fluid sensors. Classification of sensors used in mechatronic systems, Data Acquisition system and intelligent application in Mechatronic systems.
Module 4: Artificial Intelligence Technique, Microcontrollers, Microprocessors (7 Hours)
Introduction to various artificial intelligence techniques. Application and role of AI in Mechatronics. Introduction to binary logics, microcontrollers, microprocessors and other controllers in Mechatronic devices,
Module 5: Mechatronics Applications and Case Studies (8 Hours)
Automated Washing Machine System, Automated Traffic signal Method, Automated Air Conditioning Method, Pick-and-place robot, Mechatronic design in automated car parking systems and study of other mechatronics applications.

Course Objective

1 .

To understand the fundamental concepts and components of Mechatronic systems.

2 .

To analyze control circuits and motor drive mechanisms in Mechatronic systems.

3 .

To explore different types of sensors and actuators used in Mechatronic applications.

4 .

To study artificial intelligence techniques, microcontrollers and microprocessors in Mechatronics.

To apply Mechatronics knowledge in real-world automation applications.

Course Outcome

1 .

At the end of the course, students will be able:
1. To explain the fundamental principles and architecture of Mechatronic systems.
2. To Design and analyze actuator and motor control systems in Mechatronic devices.
3. Identify and classify various sensors and transducers used in Mechatronic applications.
4. To implement artificial intelligence techniques, microcontrollers and microprocessors in Mechatronics.
5. To Apply Mechatronics concepts to develop automation solutions for real-world problems.
