Calculation related to chemical potential of solution, Evaluation of latent heat of fusion and entropy of fusion for phase transformation, Determination of the heat of reaction of the Hall-Heroult process, Determination Free Energy Composition Diagram, Calculation of Phase Diagrams, Determination of Activity, Dynamic model of Basic Oxygen steel making. |
Course Objective

To train the students to apply the knowledge of mathematics and thermodynamic fundamentals to model the metallurgical thermodynamics phenomenon |

To provide to the student a sufficient knowledge to be able to perform thermodynamic calculation necessary for understanding metallurgical processes and phenomena |

3. To inculcate the skill in the students for calculating phase diagram for binary or ternary metallic systems |
