Syllabus

Module 1 :

Continuum Modeling using ANSYS package.
Experiment-1: To model and analyze stresses in cantilever beam.
Experiment 2 – To model and analyze buckling of pipe under load.
Experiment 3 – To model plate with hole and analyze stresses, strains under loads
Experiment 4 – To model three point bending test and analyze stresses
Experiment 5 – To model a double L structure without out hole and analyze stresses.
Experiment 6 – To model and analyze stresses in a bracket

Course Objective

1 .

To learn the ANSYS software: structural analysis

2 .

To create a continumm model of a part of a component: nodes, grids etc.

3 .

To analyse stress and strain distributions: von Mises stress and strain.

Course Outcome

1 .

1. Understand the continuum modeling software.
2. Create models of components used in structural applications.
3. Analyze the stress and strain distributions.
4. Identify the bottlenecks in the design.
5. Design a better structure.
6. Identify the better material and efficient design.
