Module 1 :

Introduction to Analog and Digital Electronics

Module 2 :

Basic Semiconductor Physics, Diode circuit Models and applications, Rectifiers, Clippers and Clampers, LED, Photodiodes

Module 3 :

BJT Construction and operation, BJT Configuration, BJT current Components, BJT Characteristics, Transistor as amplifier and switch, MOSFET Construction, Configuration and Applications

Module 4 :

Operational Amplifier (Op-amp) and application: - Op-amp: Introduction, Internal Block diagram of Op-amp, Op-amp Characteristics,
Linear operations using Op-amp:- Inverting amplifier, Non-inverting Amplifier, Voltage follower, Summing and Difference amplifier, Integrator and Differentiator, Comparator,

Module 5 :

Digital Electronics: - Review of logic gates, Number systems, Boolean Algebra
Combinational Circuits: - SOP, POS, Combinational logic (4 variables K-map), Adders, Subtractor, Multiplexer and Demultiplexer, Encoders and Decoders,
Sequential circuits:- Flip flops (T, D, JK), Counters and Registers

Course Objective

Understand the fundamentals of Analog and Digital Electronics

Explore the principles and applications of semiconductor diodes

Study the working principle and applications of transistors: BJTs and MOSFETs

Understand the operational amplifier and its applications

Learn and apply combinational and sequential circuits

Course Outcome

1 .

1. Explain the fundamentals of analog and digital electronics.

2. Interpret the behaviour of diodes, transistors, and their applications in rectifiers, amplifiers, and switching circuits. (Level 2 – Understand)

3. Apply operational amplifier concepts in designing circuits like amplifiers, integrators, differentiators, and ADC/DAC converters.

4. Understand the use of logic gates, Boolean algebra in Digital Electronics

5. Describe the working of combinational and sequential circuits like multiplexers, decoders, flip-flops, counters, and registers.
