Course Objective
| 1 . |
To develop practical understanding of fundamentals of digital communications through experimentation on hardware and MATLAB (Communication toolbox and Simulink). |
| 2 . |
To develop practical understanding of sampling and quantization operations for digital transformation of an analog signal at transmitter and reconstruction operation to recover the original analog signal at the receiver of a digital communication system. |
| 3 . |
To develop practical understanding of digital pulse transmission (i.e., PCM, DPCM, DM) and digital passband signal transmission techniques (i.e., BPSK, QPSK, BFSK, QAM, noncoherent BFSK, DPSK, etc.). |
| 4 . |
To develop practical understanding of fundamental performance limits of digital modulation schemes in the presence of AWGN. |
