The
explosive expansion of modern communication systems has been
leased on advanced techniques for analyzing and processing
signal in digital form. The inexorable increase in demand
in wireless communications, both in the number of users and
in wider bandwidth services, has a direct link with the development
of sophisticated signal processing algorithms. Significant
questions relevant to communication & signal processing
include: |
 |
|
How can we optimally increase
the utilization of available communication resources? |
|
What is the best way of designing a communication network? |
|
How can images be compressed without degradation? |
|
What are the emerging applications and services offered
by real-time multimedia access? |
|
 |
This
short term course aims at finding answers to these questions
and providing an exposure in the emerging field of digital
signal processing and communication technologies.
|
| |
| SCOPE OF THE COURSE |
The course has
been structured to blend the fundamental concepts and methodologies
with advanced innovative techniques for signal analysis, image
processing and communication systems. The course plans to
provide a forum for in-depth discussions on the various challenges
the modern communication systems will face in future. The
utility of such techniques in industries will be amongst the
important components of coverage. Latest research work of
Signal Processing and Communication Group of Electrical Engineering
Department will be presented. The application of soft optimization
techniques like ANN, Fuzzy logic, Genetic Algorithm will also
be highlighted. |
 |
It
is expected that the participants from academic institutions,
R&D organizations as well as professional engineers from
industries will be highly benefited by the course. |
