| between its outgoing students and the outside
world. |

| Vocational Training |
|
| Vocational Practical Training is a curricular
requirement here, the main objective being to give the engineering
students a scope to supplement their class room knowledge and
have wide exposure to active industrial life and environment
before they step into the real professional world. Every student |
| has to take a minimum of 60 days Practical Training.
Unless a student satisfies this requirement he is |
| not permitted to sit in his final examinations. |

| Study Tours |
|
| Besides these, the students are also involved
in the local study tours to the near by Industries during the
3rd, 5th & 7th Semesters to have a practical knowledge about
various functions of the industries. Two faculty members also
accompany them during such study tours. The institute also provides
necessary funds for Long Study Tours to various industries all
over India which is limited to 5000 Kms from Rourkela to gain
some professional Knowledge in their field of study. Medium
Study tours are also arranged during Winter Vacation within
the area 3000 Kms. in and around Rourkela. |
