Workshop on Modeling and Analysis of Dynamic Systems
(05 - 07 December, 2011 ) |
|
 |
About The Workshop |
| This workshop on MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC SYSTEMS will be offered from Dec.5-7th 2011 under the Continuing Education Programme of N.I.T. Rourkela. The course is designed to cater the needs of teachers, scientists from R&D labs, practicing engineers and research scholars. The workshop aims to bring-out the importance of Dynamic modeling and Analysis required for process design. It provides a forum for presentations by eminent speakers in this area combining inter-disciplinary subjects such as mechanical engineering and applied mathematics. |
| |
Scope |
| In present scenario, the process of dynamic modeling and analysis plays an important role in design and control of systems. In order to understand an unknown system, it is essential to express its model equations in terms of input-output variables and interpret the solutions as time / frequency response plots. In several applications like pressure vessels, nuclear reactors, micro-electromechanical systems as well as in several energy harvesting devices, the principles of dynamic modeling and analysis are primarily needed. This course aims at providing various conventional and nonconventional techniques for designation of systems using linear as well as nonlinear equations. Well designed laboratory sessions using MATLAB and SIMULINK would help the participants in understanding thoroughly the theoretical concepts. Emphasis is given to highlight the latest aspects in dynamics such as analysis of continuous systems using reduced order models, coupled-field analysis problems, parametrically excited systems, magnetically damped systems in fusion reactors and so on. Even this course appears similar to system dynamics and vibration engineering, it is planned to provide some in depth applications related to various systems. Overall intent is to give the basic concepts in this area and provide a practical training for those in modeling and simulation line. |
