For this Lab, the dept. has procured an A0 Scanner and an A0 Plotter along with Arc GIS 9.3 and ERDAS Imagine Softwares for GIS and remote sensing applications. The wind tunnel lying in dilapidated conditions in the Hydraulic Machines Lab. has been repaired and become fully operational. A new Kaplan turbine (horizontal shaft) has been added to the same lab. The department has upgraded its computer centre to cater to both PG and UG classes. The department has procured Miniature type earth pressure cells for its Geotechnical Engg. Laboratory The department has developed a flume for studies on meandering channel in the Fluid Mechanics Lab. As a part of a Research project, about nos of large flumes are being added to the same Lab. for studies of different river characteristics.
