The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering aims at producing qualified and dynamic engineers in the fast changing areas of Electronics, Instrumentation and Communication Engineering. This undergraduate course has gained paramount importance and has proved to be indespensable to industrial establishments.

The department has been modernized with assistance received from various agencies. It was a participating institute in project IMPACT, sponsored by the Department of Electronics, Govt. of India, funded by World Bank and Swiss Development Authority. Under this project, the Department developed a Computer Laboratory Networked with server of Computer Center and has established a Departmental Library consisting of nearly two thousand books. Recently, this department has received another project from Department of Electronics on VLSI. The main aim of this project is to develop a laboratory on VLSI and provide training to the students on VLSI.

The department has sophisticated and modern laboratory equipment and has been undertaking several research and development projects in the areas of Digital Signal processing, Neural Networks and Intelligent Instrumentation. The Department has a faculty trained from reputed institutes in India and abroad and boasts of having internationally reputed teachers in the area of Digital Signal Processing. The Courses of this Department have been ISO-9001 certified. The student placement track record has been excellent with many of them placed in reputed transnationals. The department offers Under Graduate Course on "Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering" and a Post Graduate course on "Electronics Engineering - Specialization "Telematics and Signal Processing" on self finance basis.
