The Ninth Convocation of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is scheduled to be held on 21.01.2012 (Saturday) at 10.00 a.m. in the NCC Ground of the Institute. It is a pleasure for me to invite you to attend the convocation and receive the Degree in person. The Institute also has the pleasure of inviting your parents and spouse (if you are married) to join us on this pleasant occasion. I regret that children are not allowed into the Convocation Hall. Rehearsal (Compulsory for Degree Recipients) |

There will be a rehearsal of the Convocation Process at 3.00 p.m on 20.01.2012 (Friday) (i.e. on the afternoon of the Day before the CONVOCATION) in the NCC Ground of the Institute. Since the Convocation is a Sombre event, it is imperative that the event moves without flaw. Only a complete rehearsal shall ensure compliance by all concerned. Hence it has been decided not to permit a student to participate in the Convocation if he/she misses the rehearsal. |

Registration |
| |
The Degree recipients will have to register their names on 20.01.2012 (Friday) between 9 a.m to 12 Noon and between 1.15 p.m to 2.00 p.m in the Academic Office of the Institute. Participation by latecomers is forbidden to ensure that degree certificates are stacked in advance in the right sequence, and that there is no mix up during the Convocation. |

Gown Deposit |
| |
Rs. 500/- to be deposited in cash on the day of registration i.e. on 20.01.2012 (Friday). This amount will be refunded on return of the gown in the afternoon (beetween 2.30 p.m to 4.00 p.m) of the Convocation Day. |

Dress Code |

Please note that the following dress code is to be strictly maintained for the Degree Awardees on the day of Convocation.: |

: |
Full sleeve , light coloured (white, light blue, light green, light yellow, cream) plain shirt, dark coloured full pant and black full shoes. [ Striped, Check or Dark coloured Shirts, T-shirts, striped or light coloured pants, Sandals and Chappals are not permitted ] |
| Female Students |
: |
Saree of sober colour and decent design or Salwar kameez with Chunni [ Jeans, T-shirts, Skirt, Pant, Suits etc. are not permitted ] |

Accommodation |

Since we have limited rooms in our Guest Houses and both the Guest Houses will be occupied with our Distinguished guests, we will not be in a position to provide accommodation in our Guest Houses. However a concessional tariff has been worked out with some of the reputed Hotels in Rourkela. You may contact those Hotels directly for accommodation. The details of Hotels and corresponding tariff will be uploaded in the website shortly.
You are requested to send the enclosed proforma duly filled in latest by 06.01.2012 so that we will be able to make necessary arrangement for you.
