About the Department

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Science is set up to provide state of the art education and research in earth, climate and ocean sciences. Earth and Atmospheric Science is a strongly interdisciplinary subject which links different resources (e. g. minerals, energy and water), natural hazards, environmental issues, and also serves as a significant relation to weather and climate, which is inevitable for human life and our society.

Vision

To be recognized as a seat of higher learning in the fields of Earth and Atmospheric Science and provider of superior human resources to major national agencies engaged in exploration & exploitation of mineral and energy resources and prediction of weather, climate and natural hazards for disaster mitigation.

Mission

  1. To carry out cutting-edge research in the fields of Earth and Atmospheric Science with the emphasis on application to geological prospective, atmospheric modeling and measurements.
