BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sobhan Kanti Dhara is an assistant professor in the Department of ECE, NIT Rourkela. He completed his M.Tech from the department of ECE, NIT Rourkela, with Gold medal for best M.Tech and Ph.D. from the department of E&ECE, IIT Kharagpur. He was a visiting researcher at Concordia University, Canada, in 2018. Dr. Dhara is a recipient of the IEEE Richard E. Merwin Award cum Scholarship in 2019-20, Shastri Research Student Fellowship (Doctoral) in 2017-18, Institute Highest DGPA in 2015, Academic Excellence award in 2014. He has been selected to attend prestigious platforms like Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) in Germany, CVPR Doctoral Consortium in USA, etc. Earlier, he was a member of the Institute Senate at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela from 2014-15. His research interests include Computer Vision, Medical Imaging, Deep Learning, etc. Recently, he has been appointed as Associate Editor, Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing (CSSP), Springer.
