| In the last couple
of years, the outgoing students of the institute have been
securing a very large number of jobs in industries through
campus interview. A few industries where our students have
been placed are TCS - Kolkata, WIPRO - Kolkata / Bangalore,
INFOSYS - Bangalore, HCL-Noida, Satyam Computer-Hyderabad,
ICIL - Pune, TISCO - Jamshedpur, Hindustan Motors - Hoogly,
TRL-Belpahar, IPCL, RCF - Mumbai, HERO HONDA MOTORS - New
Delhi, INDAL, HPL - Kolkata, IPCL - Varodara, IOCL, MUL, IOC,
HAL, ITC, ASIAN PAINTS and other firms of national repute.

| The institute has earned
fame not only for its excellent academic and extra
curricular standards, but also for its research, consultancy
and development activities. The institute also undertakes
Consultancy and Extension Service, Refresher Courses and
other continuing Education and Research programmes, Networking
Development etc. This is the first autonomous institute
affiliated to Sambalpur University under the Government of Orissa.

| The institute offers
courses leading to the degree of B.Tech in Mechanical,
Electrical, Ceramic, Civil, Chemical, Materials and Metallurgical,
Mining, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Electronics
and Communication Engineering. The institute also offers Post
Graduate courses in Engineering & Science leading to the
degree of M.Tech in several disciplines like Civil, Mechanical,
Electrical, Metallurgical, Chemical and Computer Science and
Engineering, Master of Science (in Physics, Chemistry
and Applied Mathematics) and Masters in Computer Applications
(M.C.A.) under Sambalpur university. These Courses provide
opportunity for advanced studies and specialization in selected
subjects in various fields of engineering, technology and science.
The institute also provides opportunity for part-time M.E.
studies, in selected fields and also doctoral research
in various subjects. |

| The institute is going
to receive a massive grant from World Bank and will further
step up various developmental programmes. The Institute has
very highly qualified faculty members with expertise
in varied fields, dedicated technical personnel and has
excellent laboratory facilites with grants received
from various funding agencies. Hence with these facilities and
capabilities available, it is expected that the institute can
actively interact with industries in the areas of conducting
various refresher/short-term courses, training programmes for
industry personnel, and also can take up various industry-sponsored
consultancy projects singly/jointly as well as various testing
work. |
